Today at school

Today was cowboy day at school and Kenzie was so excited.  When I told her what she was learning about, she wanted to wear her dress up cowgirl hat.  I was a little worried she would stand out but apparently another little boy was all decked out in his cowboy clothes, so I guess it was the thing to do today.  Thursday will be pajama day so I'm sure Mckenzie will love to wear her PJ's.   Also, the latest thing Mckenzie is doing is recognizing the letter "M"  Any time we pass a bill board with letters she will find the letter "M" and say look mommy the board has the letter "M" for Mckenzie.  Today we were driving to school and she saw a licence plate that has 1 letter "M" and again she pointed it out.  I'm glad she is recognizing letters.  She is also really good at her number recognitions.  She can do most of them but she always gets "3" and "5" mixed up.  Madison is also progressing.  It has been over a week with no potty accidents, now all I need to do is wean her off the binky at night.  She is my little baby and I have a hard time letting it go.  I guess I just need to let her grow up.  Brian keeps nagging at me to get her off the binky, I just don't have the heart to do it.  I'm sure it will happen soon though, I told Brian after we get Madi potty trained we can wean her off.  Well the time has come.  If anyone has some good suggestions on the best way to go about doing this I could really use the help!!!

Nothing to say

I hadn't really posted much this week so I thought I would talk about nothing.  Now that all the holidays are over it seems that there is a calm at our house.  Things are getting back to order, Kenzie is back at school and Dance.  Brian is back with his crazy schedule at school and I am doing what I always do.  Trying to keep the house and the kids tamed.  Okay so I was thinking the other week that I would try really hard to maintain the house everyday.  With working full time right now this is very hard to do, since after a 12 hour shift or sometimes 16 hour shift, the last thing I want to do is unload the dishes.  Well, it turned out okay, I maintained.  It was nice not to worry about having to spend the whole day cleaning because it just took a little while to clean.  I think I will try it again.  For me it's frustrating when the kids pull out all their toys and don't want to put them back when they are ready to do something else and if you have ever been in our little 1000SF home a few toys make the entire house look like a disaster.  I was talking with my mom and she said she has a friend who raised 9 kids in the same amount of space (she never gives me any sympathy)  Can you imagine?  I have a hard time with 2 kids in this space.  Well, the light at the other side of the tunnel is starting to show.  Brian applies for dental school at the end of this semester so the stakes are high!  I am praying everyday that he gets in.  He is really excited about shadowing dentists.  I think he really likes this semester because he is taking a lot of classes that apply to dentistry.  I love when he talks about it he gets so excited.  I'm excited too.  The other thing I have been thinking about is having another baby.  I am getting baby hungry and it is driving me crazy.  Who in their right mind in my situation get baby hungry?  I don't really want to say anymore about that becuase it's not in the picture right now and wont be for a while its just what I think about.

Club Express

The entire family was shopping the other day at express and the kids started dancing in the store.  Madi was being her usual free spirited wild child self and Mckenzie was dancing as a flirty go go girl next to a manequin.  After a while of dancing a couple of other kids started flocking over towards them and started dancing also.  It was funny watching these kids dance as if they were at a dance club or something.  Check out these goofy kids... check out the first 35 seconds or so.

Depression!

So the last month Brian has been out of school on break. I'll tell you I felt like I was married all over again when he was home. This week Brian went back to school, and I think I'm depressed about it. I know that once school starts I will hardly see him. So I'm depressed, today I just looked at my messy house and said "I just don't care" and I vegetated. On top of Brian gone I'm on my crimson tide so that enhances things ten fold. I know, I know, we all get mad at men when they blame our crankiness on the time of month, but I can do it all I want. Brian is such a sweetheart! He came home and saw the messy house and didn't even say anything, like he didn't even notice the hurricane that hit our house. Well I'll be better, tomorrow I work a 16 hour shift so my gaol is to clean and do laundry Saturday, and I will not rest till it's done, till then!

Kids say the funniest things!

Alright so I haven't been very good at writing down what my girls say so I thought I would write down what Mckenzie and I talked about at dinner
Kenzie -Mom, do girls fart?
Mom -Yes, every one farts.
Kenzie- No, thats not right!
Mom- Than what do they do?
Kenzie- They Pass gas
Mom- Thats right, good job, who taught you that?"
Kenzie -"Daddy"
Mom- Does mommy fart?
Kenzie -No! She passes gas
Mom -Does daddy fart
Kenzie- YES!
Mom- LOL!!!!
Okay so if you don't know me very well than this conversation might sound crude, but oh well I thought it was the funniest thing. I'm glad Brian is teaching the girls some lady like manners. Brian is so good with the girl It amazes me how patient he is with the girl. One day he sat with Mckenzie for an hour in front of the fridge, going over the alphabet toy magnets. I have never done that more than 1 minute. (I think he was suppose to be cleaning)This is Madisons thing. Ever since she has discovered how to squirt the squirt bottles, Madison will stop at nothing to do this!! She will not drink hardly any water all day. The minute I give her a water bottle the water is a goner. I don't know why the water taste so much better in the squirt gun, but it does, and if I ask her why she likes to drink out of it she says "because I like it!". Its the cutest thing until I can't find any squirts guns cause they are all in the toy box. Besides squirting the water in her mouth, she also loves to clean everything and anything with the bottle, even carpet "I just want to scream when I see her squirting the electrical TV and my alarm clock." she loves the squirt gun, it will keep her entertained for a long time, so I let her use it but any time Brian's home all the squirt bottles go missing. (he can't tolerate her squirting, LOL) I guess I'm a push over mom, or maybe its just one small thing out of the big picture. Whatever it is I let her use it hehehe. Whats the harm? (as long as she stays away from the electrical stuff.) Okay I am rambling so good night!

Chocolate Chip!

Brian was bathing the girls the other day and was shampooing Mckenzie's hair. He was making all sorts of funny hair doo's, but this one was the funniest. Brian was making a big deal about how funny she looked that we got the mirror for her to see. The minute she saw it she said "I look like a chocolate chip". It doesn't sound as cute explaining the moment but it was hilarious hearing her say it. we laughed and then took a picture.

Kenzie's new Booster

Mckenzie needed to upgrade to a booster so we went to the store and picked one out. We both agreed on a really cute pink one, but then I saw this gray car seat for the same price that looked way more comfy and had lights on it so she can read in the seat (cool) on top of that there was not only a cup holder but a snack holder too. I convinced her of the better bargain and she got the gray one. I was so surprised that she picked comfort and convenience over pretty in pink. I am so proud of her she is learning to reason and think of more than just cool colors. Yea for Kenzie! Well as you can see the kids were having a blast with the box that the booster came in. I thought they were so cute hiding I had to post a picture

Mckenzie's First Day in Primary

Mckenzie had her first Day of Primary.  She was so excited.  She kept saying she was going to Primary school.  After the class I asked the teacher how she did and she said she was very reverent and she offered the closing prayer in her class.  Then I talked to the Primary president and she said what a great addition she was to primary.  She told me that she asked the primary during sharing time if anyone new who the living prophet was.  Mckenzie raised her hands really high and said I know!!!  "IT'S ME"  I laughed!!  I'm glad she is participating.  (The next day in FHE we learned about our Living Latter Day Prophet President Thomas S. Monson.)  Mckenzie loved the singing and had a great time.  I'm so glad she had fun and enjoyed Primary She is getting so big.  I'm sure I will continue to think she is always growing big.  I just can't believe that almost 4 years ago I had this helpless little child in my arms that couldn't do anything on her own and now she is this beautiful child of god that is constantly learning a growing, and maybe growing too fast for my liking.

New Years Eve Day!

Giddy up Horsey!
Madi riding the horse

Kenzie has been aching to get a play register for a long time so when she saw this she was so excited to play!
I think Madi was thirsty cause she kept drinking the play water "gross"

LOL!
My girls love to play house.  I think they could have played here all day.
The weather today will be partly cloudy with 10% chance of snow.

Look we are in a real helicopter.  When you go inside, there's a button you can push that assimilated the sound of what a real working helicopter would sound like.  Madi and Kenzie were a little scepticle about getting inside cause the boy in the front had pushed the button and the noise was really loud.  After they got in  they loved it.
Musical sounds
We had a blast at the Discovery Gateway Childrens Museum.  It was all hands on and my  kids loved it.  We were trying to think up something fun for the kids for new years eve and a friend posted on her blog how great this place was.  She was right "Thanks Randi"  It was more fun than I thought it would be.  Actually Brian and I were ready to go before the kids were ready to go.  I think I will have to take the kids again when it isn't so crowded.

Madi is officially Potty Trained

My big girl going poopy!!
Okay I know this is Nasty, but I have to have it on record.   We have been letting Madi wear panties all day for the last week and the first day she had no accidents and every day after she had about one accident a day.  ( I thought that was really good for her)  I was so proud when madi at dinner time said she had to go poopy (which is usually what she says when she needs to pee) She got the big girl potty all ready and really pooped.  She had pretty well had the urinating down, but not number 2.  This is a big milstone yea!!!  The last 2 days she has had no accidents.  She really is on a role!!
Going Pee, yepee!!
