No more Binky!!! Yeah!!!

Madi has always been a very quiet baby with her binky.  If she had a Binky in her mouth she was the happiest girl in the world.

My baby is officially no longer a baby!  I got her off the Binky last week.  whoa!!! it was way hard. We told Madi the night before we took her Binky away that tomorrow we were going to throw all her Binky's away because she was a big girl and not a baby anymore.  She seemed okay with the idea and in the morning gathered up all her Binky's excitedly, and tossed in the trash like no big thing.  Well then, at night we tucked her in and and gave her a kiss, and then............... She asked........... "I need my Binky"  Brian and I told her that they are all in the trash and that she was a big girl now.  Madi frowned and then....................she Busted out bawling with big dart tears.  It was the saddest thing ever to see.  I felt like such a horrible mom at the moment.  So, after a few pep talks from mommy and daddy she finally calmed down.  I told her that the Binky fairy was going to come tonight and get all her binky's from the trash and take them to all the new baby's that need bink's.  I think she liked that story and she went to bed.  But it doesn't end there.  She got sick that night with some virus, but we didn't know she was sick we just figured she was getting up every hour because she couldn't sleep without it.   Well, after two night of no sleep I called the Dr. (only cause she spiked a fever)  I took her in and that's when we found out that she had a virus.  Brian and I searched all over the house to find a binky for her because we felt so bad that we took it away when she was sick.  We searched high and low and could not find one soooo..... I guess that was a blessing in disguise because now her virus is gone and after 6 days of endless nights she is sleeping through the night with no binky.  Yeah for Madi.   The next project for her is training her at night to sleep with panties.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Mckenzie was a breeze for everything so Madi has been my challenge I will take any advise I can get.

Romantic night out!

What a beautiful Temple.   It has been a tradition ever since we got married to go to The Roof for Valentines day.  It all started with our first V-day.  We wanted to go to the Roof but it was booked.  We ended up getting reservations for the day before V-day.  We thought it was such a romantic atmosphere that we have gone every year since.  They play live piano and you have the gorgeous view of the SLC Temple (where we were married).  Its so nice because its not like most restaurants where you have to yell across the table just to hear the conversation.  Its quiet and peaceful. 

The last couple of years we have gotten a group together to enjoy the evening.  Its always fun to have friends enjoy something you like.  We had a blast.  I don't know why but I must have eaten so much that the blood left my brain and into my stomach.  I was laughing at everything.  The waiter was taking our pictures and I thought it was so funny watching him struggle to figure out how to use each camera.  He actually did a great job with the pics I don't know what my deal was.

This was our Beautiful View from our table.  It was nice because our group was a little late so Brian and I had a while to enjoy the view and the piano alone.......  

Ready to go out.  Its been a long time since we had a night to ourselves so it was nice to get out of the house without the kids interrupting our conversation.  I love our kids but sometimes for my

sanity I just need to get away.

                                         

These are my beautiful Flowers Brian got for me even though I told him not to get me anything, hehehehe, How did he know I would still love something.  He's the best!!!  Brian is the most thoughtful man a live, he also went to Dillard's and spent hours trying to pick out a dress for me to wear.  Unfortunately it didn't fit right and we had to take it back but what a great guy!

Valentines day for the kids

Grandma Jean and Grandpa Lyle Came over on Saturday to watch the girls so Brian and I could go out.  They brought a fun surprise for the girls.  They both got new valentine Jami's and a basket with chocolates (their favorite) and a teddy bear.  they were so excited.  Kenzie also had gotten some popcorn from one of the kids from school so they had movie night with popcorn.  
Kenzie made a valentine bag at school for all her valentines.  She was telling me about her day at school and she said a little boy in her class didn't like her princess valentines, but Kenzie said she didn't like the transformer valentine.  I thought that was funny.  

Grandma Jane Gave the girls Valentine shirt to wear so I had them wear them Thursday for Kenzies school  My cute little Valentine girls!

1.  I am happy when my house is all clean.  Its the best feeling when you have slaved for hours cleaning and you get to sit down when all the hard work is done and enjoy the cleanliness.

2.  I am happy when my husband gets home from a long day of school.  I feel like the whole day woulnd't be the same If my cute hubby wouldn't be coming home.  I always get excited when he walks in the door.  On a hard day he makes everything better.

3.  I am happy when I get to go shopping!!  What can I say I love to shop.  

4.  I am happy when I see someone I havn't seen in a long time.  It's so fun when I am out shopping or at a resurant and I run into an oldtime friend.

5.  I am happy when my kids do cute stuff.  If your a  parent you know what I am talking about.

6.  I am happy when we have family get togethers or dinner.  I love my family and I love spending time with them.

In Memory of Great Grandma

Norma Hunsaker Spencer Newbold (Brian's grandma)  Died Yesterday 2/4/20o9.  She died with family all around her.  when I asked how she was when she died Jean replied, she was peaceful and looked as beautiful as ever.  Grandma lived a full life.  She was born March 11, 1919 she had almost made it to 90 years old.  Now she is watching over all of us with our father above.  I remember visiting Grandma Newblod (the kids great grandmother) and she was always so kind.  I think every time we came to her house she was trying to give away something whether it be books, or stuffed animals for the kids.  We will miss her dearly but we want to celebrate her life and want everyone to know that Grandma is in a better place without pain and loneliness.  I found this poem on the internet that I thought would be appropriate.

 everyone will read them..but the only thing that matters

is the little [ dash between them ]

This is Brians Bio from the Pre-Dental Association if you can't see it on this post you can check it out on the website http://web.utah.edu/predental/Pre-Dental_Society/Bio_-_Treasurer.html  The latest project they are working on is planning a 5K marathon for operation smiles or some other cause.  Its early in the works so hopefuly they can make it happen.  I know that they have been talking about doing this for a couple of years so, hopefuly this year they can organize and get it done.  I know I will be running in it, if they plan it.
